It has been a year since my last post and a lot has happened since then. Here’s a brief overview of the most notable events:
- Presented the company’s business plan and established a US Corp.
- Formed a limited liability company (LLC) in Delaware with a foreign corporation in California, with the help of a formation agency
- Conducted the first board meeting and approved the initial capital investment
- Established a separate US business division and built up the infrastructure for operations, including office and warehouse leasing, and hiring accounting, law, and marketing agencies
- Obtained a work visa (E-2) with the help of an immigration agency
- Set up a transfer pricing from the head office to the US branch
- Drafted the business plan for 2023
In addition to the above business-related tasks, administrative tasks related to the initial establishment of the subsidiary were also carried out:
- Obtained General Product Liability (GPL) insurance
- Purchased a company vehicle with cash, as the corporation had no credit history
- Secured insurance for the company vehicle
- Enrolled US employees in a medical insurance plan
- Set up accounting and banking software
Although there are still some logistics tasks that need to be set up, the basic infrastructure for working in the new location has been established. We are still full of excitement for the new venture, as we prepare to recruit local employees and run the business.
The departure date is set for January 30th, 2023. While sorting through my belongings, we discarded more than 70% of the things we don’t need, and it feels great to have lightened the load. Since I plan to purchase new furniture locally, I will pack our belongings in boxes and send them as air cargo, rather than in a container.
Overall, I’m optimistic about the future and am eager to embark on this new journey.

물류 업무들은 아직 세팅할 것이 조금 남았지만 일단 나가서 근무할 수 있는 최소한의 인프라들은 구축해놓았다. 본격적으로 현지 직원도 채용해야하고 동시에 사업도 잘 운영해야 하지만 아직까지는 full of excitement

보낼 짐들을 정리하면서 그동안 가지고 있었던 안쓰는 물건 70% 이상은 버린듯하다. 버리니 진짜 속이 다 시원하다. 가구는 가져가지 않은 현지에서 살 예정 이여서 짐들은 컨테이너로 보내지 않고 박스 포장하여 항공 화물로 보내려고 한다. 대충 정리해보니 10박스 정도 나오는 듯
