In 2024, I achieved my savings and investment goals as planned.

In December, I couldn’t resist the temptation brought by the skyrocketing exchange rate and the KOSPI drop, so I purchased some Korean domestic stocks. This caused my pension investment amount to decrease, but I considered it a bargain sale and had to pick up shares accordingly.

For my pension savings fund, I completed the full deposit of 18 million KRW at the beginning of the year (check the post below for why I fully focus on pension savings not mixing with an IRP account).

As for my Roth IRA:

  • For 2023, contributed $6,500 (the maximum).
  • For 2024, contributed $6,000 (out of the $7,000 maximum), leaving $1,000 short by year-end.

The rest of my available funds went into my ISA account, totaling around 48 million KRW invested for the year. This is an increase of 18 million KRW compared to last year.

I plan to follow the same investment approach in 2025.

To wrap up the year, I visited Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead. It was a good opportunity to review last year’s goals, set new plans for this year, and recharge. Although I only accomplished about half of the goals I set last year, I believe that tackling them one by one will lead to steady growth.
